DVR hard drive scan

I recently started having trouble with my DVR, recorded programs freezing up..then the reciever started rebooting itself all the time. After looking at the forums, i tried the hard drive scan..it took almost 24 hours..and found over 7000 errors! and apparently not all of them were corrected. Now the receiver restarts and completely locks up..can't use the remote or buttons on the front. I just started the hard drive surface scan again..it's at 15% and already found another 435 errors! Is it time for a new DVR?

 Call DirecTV to request a replacement Receiver/DVR.  It's free if you have their Equipment Protection Plan, or within 90-days of installation.  Otherwise ~$20 for shipping.  Or ~$50 to have a tech come replace it for you.
