DVR records for hours and hours

I have a R15-300. I've had it for almost four years now. For the past two months now when i set a program to record the light will either come on immediately and start recording from that point or it will wait till like 12 hours before the actual program and start recording. It will record hours of stuff that I didn't ask it to record. This blows! To top it off I'm paying $7 per month for this. You've got to be kidding me.

Is anyone else having a problem like this? It's really starting to make me wonder if it would just be easier to go with Dish Network. My bill has continued to go up, up, up over the past year and now this.

Tell me DirecTV, why should I remain a customer?
