Equipment compatibility D12 500

A friend gave me his active DTV D12 500 box to hook up at his vacation home. With it he supplied a 18" oval dish (KTI) with a twin lnb (California Amplifier #150517)  It is a single lnb with two outputs. The receiver infor says the Dish Type is: 17 Slimline-3S (SWM). It came attached to a Perfect Vision 3x4 multiswitch with a 13v and 18v input and outputs for 4 receivers. I have set everything up and use a signal meter to get the sat signals, several of which are strong. I think I am getting 119, 110 ,101 and possibly another. The STB menu says only Sat 101 on the menu satellite settings display. I am getting a very strong signal at the coordinates for 101 but the STB never shows any signal strength received and has the 771 error "Searching for satillite signal" but never acquires one. My question:  Is the D12 500 compatible with and will work properly with this lnb and multiswitch? I have setup at least a dozen satellite dishes and boxes with no previous problem such as this. I have also removed power from the unit and let it reset with no success.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
