Error Code 771
I have been receiving an Error Code 771 on some of my channels for the past week. The channels can be viewed in low resolution mode only. I have checked connections (good), possible antenna obstructions (none) and turned on and off the receiver and nothing has helped. Weather is not an issue. Any idea on why certain channels are coming in on low resolution and how to fix the problem? Thanks.

you have low signal strength on some transponders almost certainly due to dish misalignment. There are youtube videos showing you how to realign a dish but it's not s simple job. You really need a service call from directv ($100).

usually because the receiver tuners perform differently. It could also mean you have a cable/connector issue. Try swapping the receivers over and see if the problem stays with the line or moves with the receivers
