Format and resolution
numerous buttons on remote pressed accidentally and resulted in zoomed in format. The tv does not respond when trying to change the format normally and after trying to change the format numerous ways the resolution is now stuck on 480. When attempting to change back to 1080 the tv goes black and back to 480. Help

@Skylarstubson OK, please first make sure that the format is original by toggling it but being sure to not have it change from 480i (so essentially 480i with original format.) From there, use the RES button on the front panel of the receiver to change to 1080i. If you still face issues, I would recommend a red button reset of the receiver as well as a check on the TV settings to make sure it is set for high definition. Unplugging and replugging the HDMI cable back in may also grant success.

Doing some sort of reset then changing back to the original format and using the buttons on the receiver. Something just clicked

The remote's FORMAT button should toggle the various display resolutions.

the format button changes the width slightly but the format of the tv is still (Edited per community guidelines) zoomed in. Half of the screen is still cut off.

@Skylarstubson also make sure to have the format as Original format and 1080i to be sure you get the best HD picture that the HR24 can output. If there is an issue with the FORMAT button, you can manually change the format on the HR24 by repetitively toggling the RES button on the front panel of the receiver. (closest button to the access card door)

Also check your TV's Format/Resolution setting using the TV remote.

@detuch254 it won’t stay at the 1080i resolution, when selected it blacks out and returns to 480 :( the format stays at original but when trying other formats such as letterbox etc. there is no change. The whole thing is stuck zoomed in and blurry

@DIRECTVhelp Andres, are you even aware of the topic being discussed right now? Because if you were, you would have known that some ACEs have already responded to the OP's problem and that the problem has nothing to do with account-related matters that only a DIRECTV representative can cancel. OP please ignore Andres's post as it is irrelevant and a complete waste of time. This also keeps others from seeing the public resolution.
