frozen picture!!

the picture/sound/EVERYTHING has been frozen on my receiver in the living room.  i checked the one in another room and its working just fine.  This is bogus! it wont record any of my progams, show me the guide, it wont do anything but turn the tv on and off! i've tried pressing the power button on my directv receiver and nothing...... HELP!
