GE Universal remote

My equipment was just updated from an old DVR to the newer HD DVR; previously I used a GE Universal Remote to control my setup but after getting the new receiver I can not control it. I've search online and haven't had any luck finding the specific code for the DirecTV HD DVR (at least any that have worked yet). Any one have the code? Thanks!

I actually just found a post that resolved my issue: https://forums.att.com/t5/DIRECTV-Installation/HR24-200-Need-Remote-Control-Code/td-p/4710047

My issue was that the system was setup to accept "RF" remote signals, when my GE Universal Remote is "IR". Once I figured that out, I was able to change the settings and the first code I tried worked.

What model was your old DVR?

What model is your new DVR?

I believe the old model was the HR20 (I can't confirm, because it has already been returned). The new DVR is the HR24/100.

Hello @Boobjs40 Thanks for reaching out to us regarding the programming of your remote.

Follow these steps to program your remote:

  1. Press MENU on your remote.
  2. Select Settings > Remote Control Program Remote.
  3. Choose the device (TV, audio, DVD) you wish to program. If you don’t see your TV or device listed, use the code lookup tool to find the 5-digit code.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete programming.

Let us know if this helps.
