No, it doesn’t really matter. Geminis are able to be connected wired and wirelessly. As long as you received model C71KW-400 or C71KW-500 you should be good to go. The package includes setup instructions and additionally I linked setup videos to help you get going.

Yes, they are capable of 4K. Are you saying that they sent two when you ordered three? Yes, i would call DIRECTV (number in my greeting below) to verify order status. Perhaps it is still in transit with FedEx. Otherwise, I’m sure they can redo the order for you.

Yes, you can just leave it. No need for it..
Unless, of course, you prefer a more reliable wired connection from the Gemini to the main HS17 Genie. There are more videos on the directv website showing how to get it to operate with the coax. The Gemini is a fairly new product and I haven’t had the chance to get my hands on one as of yet.

I recall there was a post on another forum (DBSTalk) about transferring those boxes for use with DIRECTV satellite. With the limited info I know about the Gemini boxes (I haven’t gotten my hands on one yet and am helping based off prior knowledge) I wouldn’t be able to get you an affirmative answer on that one.
Just for the heck of it, have you tried putting in your satellite credentials?

There was recently another post where someone's Gemini box was loaded with the wrong firmware .... DirecTV Stream instead of DirecTV Satellite/Genie firmware.

Does anyone have an actual hands on review of how the Gemini's compare to the Genie wireless clients as far as loading information and navigating the UI.
I know they have the same look within the UI, but is the navigation the same as far as channel loading speed etc?

FYI,
I had two Osprey boxes from my old DTV stream account. They would not work with my DTV satellite, so they sent me two new Gemini devices to use with my DTV satellite at no cost. Pretty cool
