GEMINI REMOTE AND GENIE REMOTE WITH SEPERATE TVS IN SAME ROOM

I recently upgraded to the Gemini on my main TV in my man cave. I have a secondary TV that I use for big days in sports.  Previously, I had separate IR for the two remotes. But Gemini, I believe, only has the RF option. Everytime I come into the room now to turn the Gemini on everything cuts on. Is there a solution out there?  Thanks!

The Gemini box is simply a re-purposed DirecTV Stream box. It should respond to IR commands also.

You may have the terms confused. IR refers to a remote that controls any receiver. In other words, as long as the Directv receiver is set in IR mode, it will be triggered by the remote. However, with RF mode, only the one receiver programmed with that remote is triggered.

What are the two remote models you have for the Gemini box and Genie receiver? What specific Genie receiver/client model is it?

This is especially confusing because the Gemini remote doesn’t operate regular DIRECTV receivers (as far as I know).

I don't have a Gemini box. But I know that my DirecTV Stream box remotes worked with my satellite boxes. At least until I canceled satellite.

IIRC there was a way to have 2 IR remotes control 2 separate DTV receivers in the same room, you charged the receivers IR code on one to 001 and the second to 002 I think it was in the advance menu in the remote setup at least in the old interface.

I have two TV's in my family room. Even though one is LG and the other is Vizio, their remotes work on both TV's. Same with the old Directv Genie, Firestick, and Sony Bluray remotes. I turned off the CEC for the HDMI to turn on the TV on the Sony remote and it worked. The TV's don't start up with the Sony remote. Haven't tried it with the others yet.

The Gemini remote only starts the LG that it is supposed to.

BTW the Gemini Info says the Gemini remote is Bluetooth (a form of RF).

Maybe changing to IR might work for the Genie box.
