if the others work fine I’d suspect an issue with the Gemini box itself. First thing to try is a red button reset on the side. If that doesn’t fix the issue, you may also try resetting the Genie 2 with the red reset button. Seeing that the Gemini is still technically new, this very well could be a bug affecting some boxes.

Seems like a communication issue between the Gemini and the Genie. What Genie model do you have? If you have other Genie minis or Gemini receivers, do they also have this issue? How is the Gemini connected to your Genie? (Wirelessly via the WVB or wired)?

Thanks, I think it's a DTV issue and not my equipment as this is the 2nd Genie in this location.

Ah I see. Yes, could definitely be a bug.

Any updates on this? I have had the same issue for months from the beginning. It’s not our primary TV to watch but it is annoying and I’m frustrated with the constant reboots. Especially when watch live sports!

I see there is a "watchdog" timer in the software, and when stuff goes screwy, you have a high chance of a reboot. Mess around with a lot of jumps back and forth and pauses will make it happen more often.

The Gemini is a nice technological step forward, but a complex unit with Android TV underneath, and not 100% solid. I'm confident that these things will get fixed. Not because it's directv, but because it is Android, who is better at software, just needs more work.

Greg

p.s. please remove the "accepted solution", it is NOT fixed, and rebooting, and then getting another Gemini is NOT a solution.
