Genie Remote auto changes volume when channel is changed

I have the genie remote RC73 and a Denon receiver AVR-S720W. When changing channels or pressing the Select/Exit/Info buttons the volume goes up or down on its own. I tried re-programming a new remote to my Samsung TV and Denon receiver but no luck, still having the same problem.  I also have change ports on my TV and changed the HDMI cable.  Still no luck.
