Hangs up on waiting to download
These are regular shows ie. Castle, Desperate Housewife's etc. I am having problems with. The Nomad sees the HD receiver, it can prepare them with no problems. But it hangs up on waiting to download. So far I have tried an Asus laptop with windows 7 home premium and a desktop with Vista 64 home premium. Any suggestions?

Any luck with this? I've tried all these steps today, but every program I try still hangs at "Waiting to download" in the PC application. I successfully downloaded a program from my nomad to an iPhone, so it seems like the issue is specific to the PC. Any suggestions?

Also, I did confirm that the programs are not VOD.

I successfully downloaded a program from my nomad to an iPhone
That same program should appear on the PC's nomad software and be ready to transfer to the PC. Give that a try. You understand that the Nomad has to "prepare" the program by making a SD copy of the program on the Nomad itself and then it transfers the program from the Nomad to the device (iPhone, computer etc). So, if you open the software on both the iPhone and computer, select a program to "prepare" it should appear in both places as preparing at the same time.
Just want to make sure you aren't experiencing "pilot error" with this new technology.

There is a lot of good advice here for common issues that do cause the overall download to not proceed.
If you are saying the Preparing step has completed, than on the PC chose Filter and select Ready to Download. Are those programs listed there? If so, they are indeed on the nomad.
Now, you say the program downloads to your iPhone (I think I read this) but will not download to your PC.
Please make sure no other nomad clients are trying to download so we isolate the troubleshooting to just the PC.
Cancel all downloads. Now select one program on the Ready to Download list and select to Download it to the PC. Does it work...give it about 2-5 minutes to change status.
If it does not work, please let me know the following:
What AntiVirus software are you running and what version is installed?
Can you look at the settings in the Anti Virus and see if there is the ability to ALLOW nomad?

Hi dcd, thanks for the response. Yes, I've tried downloading the same program that successfully transfered to a different client device. I spent ~6 hours yesterday getting 6 programs through the Prepare step; all of the ones I did that for show up when I apply the "Ready to Download" filter in the PC app. When I select "Download" for each of these programs it changes to "Waiting to download," but then never goes anywhere.
I also made sure that I don't have my whole-home or DIRECTV2PC active anywhere. "Pilot error" is always a possibility for me, so please let me know if you think of anything else I can try 🙂

Hi bruce_eng, sorry I hadn't seen your response before I replied to dcd. Argh, I should have known, it was the anti-virus program that was the problem. As soon as I disabled it and re-opened the app the download began. Thanks for your help!
For your reference, I am running Kasperky Anti-Virus 2011 11.0.2.556

Thanks for the comments. For your info the problem (in my case) was the Avast Anti-virus software. I stopped the antivirus program from running and it began downloding after I re-started the Nomad app.
Thank you
