Has anyone experienced anything this bad? This is criminal!!!
Been a Direct TV customer a little over 4 months, upgraded internet when we added Direct. I still don't have completely working tv or internet. We upgraded internet speed however pages now take forever to load. We use lte and my hotspot as often as wifi. 4 service calls, dozens of phone calls and chats, no change to service. We have stayed at home waiting for at&t for other appointments and they never show!! The 4 times they have shown up, they've stayed here for hours and not made any improvements. We've now been waiting 2 months for a wifi enhancer. We stayed at home ALL DAY one day, they finally showed up and the enhancer they brought was broken, said they'd be back the next day...still waiting.
As for Direct TV, we have a 4k box that has never broadcast anything in 4k, it also stalls for 3 seconds every 3 minutes, this is beyond frustrating, also the box routinely deletes recordings, no way to fix that they say. 5 visits from at&t and mastec. Nothing but lies from all of them. One guy says internet is the problem, the next guy says internet has nothing to do with it, they've fiddled with the box, the dish, the wiring, nothing changes. EVERY TIME, they say to give is 48 hours to download and call back if it dissent get better.
The phone calls to them are the worst. I've been lied to, made fun of, hung up on and extorted. I had an "at&t employee" in Jamaica tell me I needed to send in $500 to make the box work properly. Once when I asked for an employee in the US I was told they'd find me a cowboy since all of us red necks (had to spell it this way because the post was censored) love cowboys! I've reported this to at&t, of course no one cares.
The only hope I have is Costco is now helping me. I first signed up because a Direct TV employee in Costco told me if I signed up in the store I would never have to have contact with at&t, if I ever had a problem I would call Costco concierge. That of course was a lie. Luckily, Costco is aware of the problem and has offered to help.
No way though I'll be compensated for all the time, hassle, and money this has cost me. Of course they send a full bill every month regardless of how horrible the service is. In 50+ years of dealing with people and companies, I can honestly say I have never dealt with a company worse than at&t.
