Have strong signal, but no picture!

I'm setting up a camper with a SD-TV, a surplus S-3 dish, 3 LNBSs with 4ports, Zinwidie multi-switch 6/8.  I'm getting a strong signal on the meter and thru the mulitswitch, but receiver is not sending a picture.  Keep getting error 771 "SEARCHING FOR SIGNAL".  I have tried adjusting to every dish setting available, but still not getting picture!Cry

You might be aimed at the wrong satellite.  Note that you do not need the Zinwell Multiswitch if you're only connecting one Receiver.  Just connect one of the LNB's four coax OUTs to the DirecTV Receiver's SAT IN connector.  This assumes that your LNB has four coax outputs (conventional LNB) and not just  one output (SWM LNB).

What model Receiver are you using?  Look for label behind front panel access card door, or on rear panel.

Be sure that most ALL of the 32 transponders on the 101ºW satellite readings screen have signals.  That's how you can be sure you're aimed at the correct satellite. You might also find the aerial mapping and aiming tools at http://www.dishpointer.com to be very helpful.

Thanks, for the suggestions, and according to DISHPOINTER, I'm on the wrong SAT - will make that change!
