HD receiver is dead as a rock

I have an HD receiver, model No. H21-200. This evening I turned it on, watched a program for a half hour, then changed the channel by selecting it off of the guide. As soon as I hit the select button on the remote, a blue screen came up, informing me that my receiver was starting up, and it would be just a few minutes. After a couple minutes of that, the screen goes black and my television tells me that there is no signal. I tried to turn the receiver on with the remote and got no response. I tried the power button on the receiver and still did not get a sign of life. I unplugged the receiver from the outlet, gave it a few minutes, then plugged it back in. Again there is not any sign of life, as the blue light on the power button fails to light up. If the receiver is truly dead, am I going to be charged $50 or whatever for a service call to have it replaced?
