Help With New DIRECTV Coax Cable Network Configuration and Installation
We had hurricane damages that required a large amount of significant renovations. We are having a centralized network and patch panel installed for all of the communication systems in the house with new RG6. This will include adding proper coaxial keystone wall connectors in each room that will all feed back to the network panel. The network panel will then have the main incoming signal from the dish fed into the DIRECTV DSWM 30 SWiM Multiswitch. The Multiswitch has two SWiM output ports that will then have exactly two DIRECTV SWiM splitters (one off of each Multiswitch port for balancing the outputs) that will then be ran to each room. There will be a total of 12 coaxial wall connections, with a few rooms having more than one. The intent is for future expansion of service that would allow installation of one receiver per room. The multiple coaxial wall connections in a room is to allow for the convenience of connecting a receiver based on the room's configuration or furniture arrangement.
So, the questions are: 1. Is this configuration correct? I believe that it is based on all of the DIRECTV information and configuration guides I could find. 2. Did I overlook anything with the installation plan or are there any improvements that should be made to the configuration? 3. Since the Multiswitch requires its own power inserter, how do I handle any receivers that have a built in power inserter (such as the HR54 Series)? The Multiswitch requires a PI-29, so I believe the power inserter to the Multiswitch should handle the whole system power requirements within a single dwelling. 4. Do I need to have a DIRECTV SWiM splitter port connected to each coaxial wall connector individually or am I able to use something such as an Antronix or Holland balanced splitter to tie the individual room's coaxial wall connectors together on a single SWiM splitter port?

The PI29 only powers the SWM module and sends 13v and18v to the dishes standard LNB, any other power supplies will not do anything but if you want to make sure don't connect them to a red power pass through port on the SWM splitter. Any in use coax has to connect to a SWM splitter post, to balance it you can have 15 tuners on each of the outputs so a Genie has 5 tuners and you can have only one on the account, HR24s have 2 tuners each HX receivers 1 each.

If you are a current DTV user then it depends on what account you are on, an RC1 account limits you to 8 devices and the newer HS17 account only allows 7 TVs but a legacy account may work.
No idea why you need 30 tuners for but AFAIK DTV residential doesn't install SWM 30 or do prewiring.

Thank you for the feedback shannon02, I appreciate the insight and will contact DIRECTV directly when it comes to any concerns with my account limitations. I also understand that they do not do any prewiring, and was not expecting them to. While the SWM 30 is overkill for the intended DIRECTV configuration, it is considered an upgrade/replacement for the previous version Multiswitches and was more readily available at the time the order was placed for supplies. Due to continued supply shortages in multiple industries including both networking and construction, we planned for the use of materials that were available and would function within the new system requirements. But you also didn't answer any of my stated questions.
