This is nearly always a signal strength issue. what's your signal strength on 99ca tp19 and 103ca tp23

You need to click on the + to change the satellite to 99 and 103

I have satellite and it is set to 101 degrees. I can change it but it changes the transponders 17-32 to zero and puts the tuners at 63%.
Can you walk me thru what you're talking about?

DTV uses three satellites 99 101 103 with HD programs on the 99/103, HD programs are on a narrower beam so are lost before the SD programs on the 101 so with 63% on the HD sat is to low. Selecting the sat + changes the 101 to 99 or 103 and there are sub sets 99ca/cb 99s and the same on the 103

Yes, the satellite readings that you have are too low to be considered reliable. Please post the satellite readings for 99 (ca and cb) and 103 (ca and cb). Satellite 99 has History HD and I believe that satellite 103 has ASXS. Correct me if I am mistaken.

My recommendation would be to call for a technician to come out and align the dish or you can safely follow along with Jim Litz's satellite dish setup on YouTube (very helpful). For now, please go to Menu, go down to Settings, Display, and show all channels. Once that is set, watch the SD version of History and ASXS until the dish is realigned by you or the directv technician.

We still don't know what his signal strengths actually are.

I usually record shows to the DVR so only if I watch a show live do I have the option of watching it in SD.
I will watch the video but I am thinking that I do need a tech to come out.
Thank you for your help.

@namckay45 I am confused by your reference to the fact that you can't record in SD. Just click the record button on the SD station instead of the HD station.

and until you get the dish aligned, satellite 101 is in alignment so ASXS and History SD should come in just fine.

namckay45 - I know it's confusing but the SD version is actually a different channel from the HD version so you need to set up a separate series link.
Display the guide for All Channels
Find the SD version of the channel you want to record. It's usually just below the HD version.
Find the program you want to record.
Click on it and set up a series link. You will now have two series links, one for the HD channel and one for the SD channel. You will get two recordings.
When the HD signals are fixed, delete the series linK for the SD channel
