Home Network Issue

I have mine set up with a wireless adapter on the DVR (which I've been using for months for On Demand) and the "slave" unit hard wired to the router. Everything worked fine, but I started getting some weird anomalies -- my Internet connection would be blocked (as though something had hijacked the port) and I would have IP address conflicts that were never there before. Once I unhooked the slave receiver from the router, the network and internet connection started working correctly again, but of course I lost my MR capabilities. Any ideas as to what might cause this and if there are settings that I can adjust?

Thanks

Your difficulties are more likely related to your wireless connection. Have you tried connecting only the hard wire and see if everything is normal as well? Hybrid networks like yours are not going to be able to participate in the mainstream version of MRV but will be required to network using DECA. I'm not sure what setting you might adjust because many with wireless components are reporting difficulties as well. You might want to simply wait for DECA's release.

For the time being, I've tried a simple fix -- assigning fixed IP addresses to the components in my network. I'm hoping that will alleviate the IP address conflicts that seem to be cropping up. I'll let you know...

The problem with wireless is that is has by nature tiny interruptions in the signal stream and MRV requires a 100% solid full time connection. No harm in playing with it of course, but I wouldn't spend any money on the problem.
