How can I manage recordings on other DVR boxes.

I have 3 DVR and 1 HD receiver on my Whole Home Service.  I have 50 series set to record on one of the DVR, when I go to set another show to record I have to delete one of the 50 to make space.  I have 3 DVR, why can't I just set it to record on one of the other DVRs.  If I set a program to record from the HD receiver it gives me the option to select which DVR.  But when I set a program to record from a DVR there is no choice but to record it on the active DVR.  I have to go to another room to set a show to record when I should be able to set it from any box.  Am I overlooking something or is this something that has been overlooked by DirecTV?  I read the questions in the answer center and those are a waste of time for anybody who can turn their own TV on.

that is a much requested feature not currently available.  best to e-mail your suggestions to DirecTv as they won't see them here.  but your system is working as it should.

50 series links is the max for (ONE HDDVR) you have three-So that means you have a total system series of 150. Why not use your whole home system and divide the links up on different HDDVR?

You can do this by going to each HDDVR receiver and setting up links or go to your HD receiver and press the record button on any show and set the link (or program) to record on anyone of the HDDVR (named) in your setup.

That is the only way to do it with the current D* software. having 3 HDDVR's makes for a lot of series recording.

I too have three HD DVR's and I seldom need to run from one to the other because we have allocated the use for each to particular family members and program types.  Not as good as doing it from one spot, but a usable workaround.
