How do i connect my wireless genie mini to my samsung soundbar?

I have a Sharp LC-46D82U TV and a Samsung HW-Q60R Soundbar  and a new wireless Genie mini, I've tried using a Digital audio optical cable from the tv to the soundbar, and have a HDMI cable from the tv to the mini as per the DirecTV tech had instructed me to do, but I am not getting any sound, but I also have a fire stick installed on the tv and the sound goes through the tv to the soundbar with no issue, so is it that I am missing a connection from the genie mini to the sound bar?

I'm assuming there is no answer from anyone from DirecTV?

I did they pointed me to DirecTV and Sharp, as the fire stick works perfectly and so does streaming from my phone,  it's when you try to use the DirecTV genie mini that you get no sound over the soundbar, but you can get it on the TV.

well the hdmi sends the sound to the tv, so its working as intended

you have to figure how to get it to the soundbar

try changing the dolby settings on the directv box, and on the tv

note:  for future reference, try and get a soundbar that uses hdmi passthrough

So I found another chat within this forum about sort of the same issue and a DirecTV associate had the solution, I purchased

Digital Coaxial to Optical Converter, Bi-Directional Coax Digital Audio Converter

And connected the digital plug from the soundbar and the coaxial plug to the genie mini and works like a charm
