How do I setup access to network directories

I have setup directv so that i can listen to my music, view my photos and watch my videos.  when i try to access some of my videos on the network, some of the directories that contain my videos are not displayed.  so i cannot watch all of my videos.  what do i have to do to make these other drives "visible" to my directv settop box?
