How limit number of shows kept for recurring manual recording

My DVR ignores my limiting it to First Run shows for many, many programs.  I've tried to get around that by using a recurring manual recording, but then I can't figure out how to limit the number of those shows it keeps.  So, if I tell it to record, for example, Channel 2 at noon every day, it does it, but it won't limit the number of those manual recordings that it keeps.  So, I have to manually delete every single one of them, which is a huge pain.

How do you limit the number of a recurring manual recording that are kept??
