How long will the Beta work?
I have been using the Beta setup which has worked flawlessly, for a few months now. How long before they force people to go to the DECA setup? Is there any chance that I can start paying the $3 a month and keep my setup networked just as it is without the DECA? How much does the DECA equipment cost? If it ain't broke don't fix it is my motto!!! I don't mind paying $3 a month for the service but I do not fell like I need any extra equipment because what I have works so well!!!!

The beta program ends on 5/20, so you have until then to call and have MRV enabled for the $3/month fee. There are several threads in this forum explaining the process, but like anything new there can be some confusion and it may take more than one call to get a CSR familiar with the process of turning MRV on with a DIY network.
The cost of the Whole Home DVR hardware is $99 and up to $49 for the installation. The cost includes an upgrade to SWiM if necessary (new dish, splitter etc.), the DECA hardware to network all HD receivers and connect to your router, and any receiver swaps that are necessary for SWiM compatibility or to replace non-MRV compatible HD receivers.
Use of your own network connections is allowed but not supported in any way by DirecTV. If you have a problem, all they will likely do is suggest that you do the upgrade to SWiM/DECA, which they will support.

So I canjust sign up and use my existing setup? I don't really care about support because I understand networking and already have all of my receivers and my DVR hardwired to my home network.

That's correct... you can use your own network but you will have to pay the $3/month fee.
