HR21 "Keep Until I Delete" Selection Stills Allows DVR to Delete Programs to Record Most Recent??!!

Let me start by saying that our older (non-HD) DirecTV-Tivo units will not delete programs that you have recorded, if you have it set to "keep until I delete". It will actually not record any new programs if your keep number of programs is already full.

So why does my DirecTV HR21 delete stuff from my "list" to make way for more recent stuff when I have the recordings set up as "Keep Until I Delete"? I searched the forums and saw a post from 2007 regarding this. Why has DirecTV not corrected this with a software update?

To give you an example:

I have an "Autorecord" set up for keyword "Space Shuttle", Keep 5 episodes and Keep until I delete.  It has been recording the programs just fine that have that keyword and in the list they have the blue "K" next to them, however, if 5 spots are filled in the list for that keyword as soon as another "Space Shuttle" program airs my oldest one gets deleted. I don't want to adjust the setting to keep 10 episodes because our DVR is fairly full most of the time anyway. I just want to keep what I say to keep.

I believe that the same thing will happen with regular series programs as well.

How about a real fix for this issue?
