HR24 MRV Help
I did some room switching and I am not sure how to hook this up now..I have 2 HR21's and an HR24. One of the 21's has been the DVR on the router with the power supply and ethernet..
The HR24 has been in another room with nothing hooked up for obvious reasons..How do I move the HR24 to the room with the power and Router? do I need a Deca with that? I tried it but could not get anything to work..
Anyone have a diagram of how I should be running this if the HR24 is the Master DVr so to speak?

The HR24 has a built in DECA which means it doesn't need a external one like your 2 HR21's. If you wish to swap receiver locations the HR24 is the only thing that you connect is the opposite room. The HR21 should have a DECA unit connected inline with the Satellite feed and a short blue Ethernet connection is connected to the top port of the DVR. That needs to go with the HR21 and nothing else. Sound like you have the Internet connection in the system as well. How is that connected and hopefully not from the router to the HR21 as you posted. The Internet connection needs its own DECA unit so that the Internet communications go through the cable system to each receiver connected with it. If you can post pictures of the HR21 in question.

Yea I knew the 24 has it built in. I ran nothing to it in the other room. I thought i needed at least the power unit connected to it if I ran it as the Main DVR..So your telling me I need nothing running to it all not even the power? Just the deca units on the units as usual?

The power unit you speek off if it is a black box with two cable connections on it and a green light you have to leave that in the location that the installer put it. That is the power supply for the SWM Satellite system not Whole Home DVR. If you move that connection the Satellite system will not work. If you have disconnected it please unplug all receivers and then plug the power insert back in. Then replug each receiver one at a time and everything shold fall back into play.

Nope, I know what the SWM power unit is..Im saying that at the router with the HR21 there was a power unit hooked up then a deca unit after that..With a splitter..

OK then that is the internet connection kit, that will need to stay in its original location as well. If you wish to move the two receivers then the HR21 should have its own DECA inline that needs to stay with the HR21. After connecting them up at the new location then everything should fall into play.

In case this isn't clear to you, leave everything in place exactly as it was. Disconnect the coax from the HR24 and disconnect the coax at the DECA module from the HR21 and switch locations. Be sure to connect the coax before connecting the AC power so the DVR's will self configure.

Well the Whole-Home is working, I am just not sure how i have that working..because i have zero items running to my router. Matter of fact when i try to set up my internet connection in the HR24 I get no connection..Yet Whole home is working in all receivers..The internet connection kit was removed because I did not see the need for it at the hr24 seens on how you cannot plug any ethernet into it or it disables the Deca built in.
So confused..

When you reconnected the Internet connection did you reset everything? You'll need to reset so the receivers will pick up an IP address and other info needed for Internet access from our router. Otherwise they will continue to use their own private IP addresses and won't be able to access your network or the Internet.

Ok I will give that a shot..Other than that, I have no idea I could have a working Whole Home DVR although it does say its connected to the network, just no internet..I will reset everything and report back..

WHDVR doesn't require a connection to your network or the Internet, it will work completely on it's own with just the DECA network.

Assuming all of your components are connected properly, if you connect the router after the receivers/DVR's are activated, it's necessary to reconfigure the system with a power off reset. Assure that your router is set for DHCP auto configuration before proceeding.
Disconnect AC power from all DVR's and receivers, disconnect the power supply to the DECA/BB module connected to the router and disconnect AC power to the SWM power inserter. Disconnect power from your Modem and router. Then reconnect in the following order. The Modem, the router, SWM power inserter, the DECA/BB router power supply, the HD DVR's, allowing each to boot up before proceeding, the HD receivers, and finally the SD receivers, if any.

Thanks for your help guys..

The BSF blocks DECA signals from going places they shouldn't go, like to the tuner on an SD receiver or to a non-green label LNB, but there should never be one on something like a DECA module where you do want the DECA signals.
