Assuming that Directv in fact activated your Whole Home DVR service, you may need to go online to your account and activate it.  It's located under the My Services Tab -> Whole Home DVR Service.  There should be a "activate" button there.  If it's marked as unavailable, then you didn't get set up properly by Directv.  If the button states "Currently Activated" then possibly a red button (inside card door) reset on each receiver will get you going.

you need to disconect your router from your DTV receicver.  connecting a cat5/6 cable to your HR24 receiver will in fact disable the internal DECA built in the receiver.  so the first step as I mentioned is removing the cat 5/6 cable from the recever, do a red button reset, that should get your WHDVR working.  now as far as getting your internet connecting back againg , you  are going to have to call DTV anfd request the internet connection kit, which will run about $25.00 plus a 49.00 service call fee.  this will include a ECA adapter a 18v power supply and a coax line from either a nearby receiver to your router or from your router to the main SWiM splitter.
