Try here http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=194642 and here http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=196654  The real info will probably first appear when dbstalk publishes a "first look" - I would expect this to be in the next month or so.

I have just examined one of these new HR34 for a repair center where we are working on the details for the SWM live feed connections for testing. Aparently this unit uses the complete SWM 8 module with no splitters involved as in previous units. No provisions for multiswitch.  Fairly large unit and basically a server.

escopeta - yes, it's a server, with five tuners. Yes, it will not work with conventional  (non-SWM) systems. I think you are confused about SWM though - the SWM8 is a stand-alone SWM multiswitch, and the HR34 will use five "SWM slots" either from an SWM8, an SWM16 or an SWM32 or from an SWM LNB on a slimline dish. You can still use splitters on the output cables so long as you do not exceed the 8 tuner limit on any one SWM "block".

Yes you are correct here. In our application we use the 6 SWM powered chassis to feed up to 48 tuners. We use hundreds of them.

The HR34 sounds pretty cool! If it's not too cost-prohibitive I'll use one to add four more tv's to my mancave without having to have a component rack for multiple receivers.

Should be fgreat or next gen. applications. I have examined one and believe they will be on limited launch next month. Not a small unit though, larger than your HR24. Should be more reliable as plenty of space for cooling. Believe Pace is the current manufacturer of this.
