HR54-500 Audio and Video not synced

HR54-500 connected to Sony Bravia TV via HDMI. Nearly every day, audio and video begin slipping out of sync. I'm getting tired of pushing the dvr's reset button 2 or 3 times a day, not to mention often losing recording minutes when I do it. I've had this dvr for at nearly 4 years and this issue didn't start until about 6 months ago.

Just about to bag Directv.

Let's see if we can get your sound working, @vkirklin.

We recommend that you make sure all the connections are tightly connected and secure. Also, we suggest that you take the HDMI cord from your HR54 receiver and plug into a different receiver to see if it has the same audio problems because this would mean that the cable is damaged.

Let us know if this helps.

I'm more than happy to check out the cables, but wouldn't that mean it would be out of sync all the time? When I reset the dvr it is usually ok at first, then gradually gets worse. I
also noticed it seems worse when 2 or more shows are recording. What about defragging the hard drive?

Hey @vkirklin,

Have you tried going online to fresh your equipment? If not I would recommend that you try doing so. Please let us know if your system syncs are refresh. Looking forward to your reply.
