HS17-100 Picture Freeze/Audio Drop

I continue to experience intermittent picture freeze/audio drop with my HS17-100 (Genie 2) tower since installation more than 2 years ago. This piece of equipment was a replacement for a previous HS17-100 installed a few months earlier (May 2017) that was presumed faulty because it also produced the same intermittent picture freeze/audio drops.  Any chance this ongoing issue could be resolved by replacing the HS17-100 tower with the newer HS17-500 model?

Apparently, the HS17-500 vs HS17-100 simply reflects a different manufacturer. The technician who came out to address the picture freeze/audio drop issue said the 500 was a newer model, as did a tech support supervisor. Shameful that neither knew better--and thus both gave me erroneous info.

Bottom line is that DTV/ATT still has not resolved this widely known bug after two-and-a-half years. Pathetic.

The C61K has had the same issue since it’s been released.

Is the C61K the wired 4K mini? I don't have any of those yet (I have five C61-500 minis) because I don't have a 4K TV. But I plan to upgrade my TVs to 4k sometime down the road, so if the C61Ks you reference here are in fact the wired 4K minis, it's disappointing to know that they, too, have picture freeze issues.

C61K 700 Mini Client. It's connected to the HR54, part of that network. It needs the HR54 to run although the HR54 itself can't do 4K.

I appreciate the info.

I have four TVs connected to an HS17-100 (Genie 2) with four C61-500 minis. Two of the TVs are are 4K capable, but are not "certified DIRECTV 4K Ready." My understanding is that--because these two TVs are not "DIRECTV 4K Ready"--I will need to replace their existing associated C61-500 minis with two C61K-500 minis to view programming in 4K on them. This is why it was disheartening to see your statement that the C61K minis have the same picture freeze issues as the HS17-100 tower.
