I miss some of my program when local channel has previous program run long
Sorry if this has been answered several times before but I couldn't find an answer on the website or in previous posts.
I thought one of the advantages to a DVR is that it goes by the program and not the time. Every time my local channel has something run over, the DVR records the end of whatever the earlier show was and I only get the first part of what I really wanted to record!! That's no better than my stinking VCR was! Isn't the DVR supposed to be smarter than that? It actually does record correctly when the program's been moved several hours due to a basketball game or something but if the show was to be right after the game & the game ran 10 minutes over,Sorry Charlie, you're gonna see the last 10 min. of the game & miss the last 10 min of your show!! Really stinks when you miss the last 10 min of something like NCIS or CSI - just when you're about to find out who-done-it!!!
Is this the fault of my local station not updating the info so the DIRECTV satellite thinks everything's right on schedule? Doubt there's anything I can do about that. They'll just say "We're sorry".
Any help would be greatly appreciated and it's already helped just being able to vent!
