I need to move my tv, can I just get a longer cord?

The white coat cord that is installed from cable to router is not long enough to reach where the tv is to be moved to. Can I just get a longer coax cord and replace it? The installation is through the floor from the basement. I have another hole I can access but the cord won’t reach.

"cable to router"?  Your DirecTV satellite cables don't really have anything to do with your home network router. What exactly do you have?

If it's standard RG6 coax cable, you can buy extra lengths and couplers at places like Lowes, Home Depot, Best Buy, Amazon, etc.

So they installed from satellite outside through basement floor upstairs. That cord- I assume is the rug-6. Can I just remove the one they installed and replace with a longer one? It comes up through the floor and attaches to the back of the router I have. Idk why

It sounds like you have a wired internet connection to the receiver. What model of receiver is it? Depending on the model it may have wifi built in and it may be possible to connect it wireless instead of wired but wired is always faster and more reliable.

Your DirecTV satellite should  not connect to your home network router, It should connect to your DirecTV boxes.

Are you sure that's a DirecTV satellite cable?  Who is your internet service provider?

I ended up speaking with a representative m. Somehow my wires got mixed up. And they told me I should be able to just buy a longer cord and replace it
