internal blue light

there is an internal blue light in my hd receiver that will not shut off even when the power to the receiver is turned off.  The receiver is in my bedroom and the constant blue light is like having a night light in my room.  The light also flickers which becomes annoying.

Also - the box runs extremely hot due to the light staying on.  I have a HD DVR box downstairs that does not have this issue.  When the power is off, all lights shut off.

How can I turn of the internal light?
