Is a dswm switch needed ?
I am full time RVing and recently subscribed to service with Directv. They provided me with an HR54-700 receiver and a slimline dish antenna. However, I did not have the means to transport the dish antenna on my last move, so I recently purchased a King One Pro Dome portable sat antenna. Will it work with my HR54 receiver or do I need to purchase a DSWM Switch also ?
I only have one receiver and one TV in the RV.
Thanks !

reading the manual for that dish, it looks like you need the DSWM30. But I think the dish will only give you sat 101 not 99/103 where the HD channels are. And the HR54-700 may not have a dish selection for 101 only, I don't know. Let's see if someone else posts more information.

The only dishes for RVs is the Winegard Travler or the KVHHD11 or a SWM slimline dish on a tripod/sled mount that you learn to aim yourself.
The SD only dishes will not work as DTV removed the 18" round dish from the Genie software so it will search for the HD channels that are not there so it sends the 771 error code.
