is it possible to talk to a human/

my problem is that a show doesn't record.  This only happens on cbs prime time.   I have tried to call and all a recording does is tell me to reset.  this doesn't help.  I would like to talk to someone who can explain the problem and possible solution.  Does DISH have this problem/  we have had decent service from Direct TV  for almost 15 years until taken over by at&t.

Give us more details ....

What show?  What channel?

Is this the only recording that's not working properly?

What exactly is it telling you to "reset"? What's the exact message?

Yes, it is possible to talk to a human but for the problem you describe, you will get better help here.

There are a number of possible reasons.

If you have a HR20-24, it may be you have 2 other shows recording at the same time (these models can only record 2 shows at a time).

The HR34/44/54 can have a similar problem, they can tune to 5 channels at once, but if you have 3 clients and are recording 2 other shows at the same time, the 3rd show will not be recorded.

If you have a genie series DVR, Press "List"

then select manage recordings-> recording history and look for the show.  that may provide insight into why it didn't record.

It would make it easier if you list all the equipment you have, and anything going on at the time the show didn't record.

Also, if you were watching/recording a 4K resolution show/game, it requires more tuners/swm bandwidth and aggravates the issue (if from a satellite)...

It's a long shot, but if you turned on parental controls, the show may not record if a rating limit was set and the show exceeds the rating limit.

can you watch the show 'live' on that DVR/receiver?  If you do, does it then also record?
