Is using a wreless router required for Nomad?

All of my DirectTV DVRs are directly connected via ethernet/cat5 to my home LAN.  I am not using a wireless router.  The Nomad install directions say that it needs to be connected to a Wireless router.   Is that a requirement or can I simply connect the Nomad to teh same network switch that I connect my DirectTV DVRs to?

Thanks,

  Rick

A wireless router is required if you want to transfer recordings from the Nomad to a wireless device, like an iPad or iPhone.  Otherwise, if you're only transferring recordings to a laptop PC with an ethernet connect to your home network, then you don't really need a wireless router.

I am on vacation and back to work on 1/05/2011.  My responses will be very limited until then.   See you next year!

Happy holidays!
