Issues with Networking Whole Home / Cinema Connection service

I have been struggling to get answers from Directv regarding connecting the Whole Home service.   The professional installer has not been successful in networking my system.  He has resorted to a 'poke and hope' problem solving approach, which is not working and has taken more than a week to get nowhere.  I am hoping someone can assist.

I am trying to connect 2 of my 4 receivers.  The other 2 are not compatible, so I understand these will not work.

Receiver 1 is a new R24 HD DVR

Receiver 2 is an H21 HD receiver

Receiver 3 is a D12 standard receiver (one of the non-compatible receivers)

Receiver 4 is a new R16 HD DVR, which I understand is also not compatible

Receiver 1 has no additional harware connected to it.

Receiver 2 has a DECA connected to it.

Connected to my router (in the room with receiver 3) is a DECA Broadband adaptor, for what I assume is a wired connection to the internet through my router.  Here's the basic set-up in the room with receiver 3

Satellite feed - Directv Band Stop filter - 4 way splitter

        - output 1 to receiver 3 - output from receiver 3 to TV (which works fine)

        - output 2 to DECA Broadband adaptor

The Broadband adaptor 3 lights.   The power light is on a steady green.  The clink light is blinking yellow and the network light is out.

The DECA on receiver 2 is similar in that it has power, clink is steady yellow and no network light.

I have checked SWM status on receiver 1 and 2 and both seem to be in order.  The receivers have been reset several times.  My Whole Home service shows as activated.  The issue appears to be isolated to the network connection.  My router is fine as we have tested that output on computers in the home.

Can anyone assist with a potential solution?

remove the band stop filter (BSF) before it connects to to splitter. connect the BSF DIRECTLY to the D12 satellite input, then connect the satellite feed to the BSF.  the BSF is preventing the DECA BB  from "seeing" the compatible receivers.  once this is done, menu => set up => system set up => network set up => restore defaults => connect now. you should get a message that you are connected to the internet.

I followed these instructions, but still have the same issue.

-  I moved the BSF as instructed.  The D12 receiver still works fine so no noticeable change there..

-  I followed the instructions on the network setup with the R24 and H21 receivers, but they both indicated it could not connect

-  I checked the DECA BB and the same lights are still lit.  No network light shows.

-  I unplugged and re-plugged in the DECA BB to enable it to restart.  No change in the status.

One clarification on the hardware.  There is a 2 way SWM splitter attached to the R24 input.

is the 2 way behind thew HR24 driving another receiver?  how big (how many ports) is the splitter where cable from the dish connects to.

The 2 way behind the HR24 is splitting the input into the HR24 receiver.  There are 2 input ports on the back of the receiver that are both connected to the output of the splitter.

There are 8 ports on the splitter at the dish.  5 of these are occupied.

Some additional information:

-  I found references to the SWM power inserter, so had to go looking for that.  It is connected in the room with the R16 DVR.  It is plugged in and lit.

-  Receiver 4 setup is as follows:

Sat input - SWM PI - 4 way splitter

   - output 1 - BSF - Sat 1 input on R16 receiver

   -  output 2 - BSF - Sat 2 input on R16 receiver

   - outputs 3 and 4 are not used

This TV works fine.

There's no reason to have a two-way splitter feeding both HR24 SAT INPUTs.  Assuming you have a properly installed Single Wire Multiswitch setup, your DVR should only have one coax cable connected to its SAT1/SWM INPUT.

You need to call DirecTV ASAP to get this corrected.  you have way too many splitters.  you said that you main splitter is an 8 way, then where the DECA BB is a four way, (making the DECA BB get 1/32 of the original signal) then a 2 way (for no reason) at the HDDVR, then another 4 (again for no apparent reason) at the R16 location.  if one where to follow DirecTV procedure, after the 8 is installed no more splitters can be used.

Here is a schematic of a typical installation.  It'd really quite simple and it appears that your installer overcomplicated the issue.
