Jerky video - HD Sports

I am noticing quite a bit of choppy video/poor video quality during live sports. Its especially noticeable during fast action scenes. The box is the main Genie DVR box.I have already checked the resolution setting on the box and both 1080 options are checked. The stations I am currently watching include ESPN 206 (NHL) and MLB Extra Innings (Mets Broadcast). Any other thoughts on what the issue is?
