last few minutes of recording no video only audio

 Do I need a new reciever, our dvr records normal and then the last few minutes of a program go black, but we still have audio and all other screens. It does not matter what channel or what time of day, and it seems to be doing it more and more often, it is very annoying  to not see the last few minutes of a program.
