Local Channel Connector (LCC) Not Connected Error 794

We've been Directv customers since the satellite went up.  Our local channels are Chicago and I have an antenna on a tower pointing at South Bend.  I used an AM-21 for many years with great reception of S Bend and interaction with DVR schedule.  It went bad and I bought another and used it for quite a few years.  When it went bad, couldn't find another AM-21, so I bought a LCC and it worked for quite a few years.  It went bad and I got another LCC, plugged it in, and surprisingly it did not work.  The receiver does not recognize that the LCC is plugged into the DVR. 

I have tried all the fixes I could find but nothing seems to work. I have not done a reset (Reset Everywhere or Reset to Defaults) yet as I do not want to lose the recorded shows that are on the DVR.  Would either of those resets maybe solve the issue? I have also went through the Directv support and no one I have talked to seems to know too much about the LCC.
