I am in the Cincinnati area also. No local channels since at least 11 a.m. I tried unplugging everything and unplugging internet service and nothing seems to work. What is the problem?

We live in Cincinnati as well and we've been dealing with the same issue since the 11am hour.  I hit the reset button on our main receiver and it is still out.  Glad to see this forum before I called DTV.

Ours is out in Northern Cincy and appears to have been all day. Called directv and they say I have to call the local channels to find out why.... Pulling hair out

It seems to be the HD channels that is out......Does this mean Direct TV will compensate us for our loss?  I am pretty upset over this & if there wasn't a contract my business may be going elsewhere.

The person I spoke with at directv said its the local channels problem. I argued that I pay them ( directv) for hd service. If I wanted local I would go local ( time Warner). I asked for a credit. The lady argued that since the SD side worked I wasn't loosing out. I stated I pay for HD access so yes I was loosing. She said it would only be cents they could credit. I said I didn't care if it were 1 cents I wanted it:). I got a credit for .33 cents

Your DVR is set up to record the HD channels and if they are not there you will get a blue screen.  You would have to select the SD channel for recording

The problem was apparently caused by a construction crew digging through a major Cincinnati Bell trunk line...
