Local Channels while Tailgating

I'm taking my successful setup from my home in Fairfax to Blacksburg, VA this weekend.

I'll be using the VU Cube (Single LNB dish) with the H24-200 receiver.  Will I be able to get Standard Definition local channels from my DC market?  I know they are broadcast via a spot beam.  Is there a map showing the layout of the spot beam?

I'd say that anything beyone 100 or 150 miles from the center of DC would be a stretch, but only trial will tell.

This is a pic of the DC spot beam but I can find the information for what all of the lines represent.  Anyone have any idea?

Where did you find that image?  I wouldn't trust it because the spot beams are shifted often.

Ahhh, good source.  Here's what it says about the rings (isobars) ....

The beam contour maps reflect the satellite operating at full power. Reception in this case is probably good out to the isobars in the low 50’s dBw.

So that's the second or third ring from the center.  Good luck.
