loss of local channels after dark when temp drops
We have two receivers, one on the upper level of the house and one on the lower level. The receiver on the lower level is a DVR and is working fine.
The receiver on the upper level is not working properly. It is an older unit - Sony Digital Satellite Receiver SAT-B55, Model LTV-19w3. We are having problems getting the local channels, which come from Fargo-Grand Forks, ND. It started about 3 days ago during this cold snap and happens after dark when the temp starts dropping. All of a sudden the screen goes blank and we get a message saying, "For ordering information please call Customer Service, Ext 721". This happens for all the local channels (Ch4 KXIB, Ch5 WDAY, Ch8 WDKZ, etc.) except Channel 11 KVLY. On Channel 11 when this happens we get the Fox Business Network Ch 359. We reset the receiver by unplugging as the instructions say and the channels will come back. This stays for a couple minutes and then we lose them again as above. Periodically they come and go. At times they will stay on for longer periods. When the sun and temp come up the next morning they are fine during the day.
It must be temp related but i am confused why it affects just the once receiver.
