Loss of signal during sunny afternoon hours

I lose signal every sunny afternoon during the spring, summer and fall. If it's an overcast or rainy day, I still get reception. I just wrote down my transponder strengths and will check them with the numbers later tonight when I get signal back, but in the meantime, does anyone have any ideas on why I would be seeing the searching for satellite signal message? Thanks.
