LOST ODD TRANSPONDERS
I ADDED A SPLITTER TO THE MAIN DERICTV AND LOSE THE ODD TRANSPONDERS. IF I DISCONNECT IT ALL TRANSPONDERS WORK. DO I NEED A BOOSTER?

Nope, you can't use a splitter on a legacy DTV system. You need to update to a SWM system that can use a SWM splitter.

In a legacy Directv system, each tuner send s a signal to the dish to select either the odd or even transponders. If you connect two tuners to the dish, which is what you are doing by using a splitter, the tuners fight each other for control and so the system won't work.

The receivers send either 13v or 18v to select the odd or even transponders and a regular splitter don't pass both or don't pass either.
