Move dish from roof to post

We are giving a new roof installed and want to relocate the dish to a post. Have been on hold to customer service for 3 hours. Hoping contact can be made prior to the roof replacement but if not I will have to remove the dish and place it next to the house until I can get them to move it. Can anyone except DirecTv do this even if on a temporary basis? Secondly if the dish is down temporarily is streaming through the DirecTv app on my iPad or phone going to work? Thanks

You own the dish so if you want to put in a 2" OD fence pole and mount the dish to it you can or hire someone, there are videos on youtube on aiming the dish. On Demand/watching recorded programs will work until the receiver stops working because it is not receiving the sat signal.
