MRV with a DVR and a non-DVR

Hi, would like to know if with the MRV you would be able to pause, rewind, etc, the programs with a non-DVR receiver.

Thanks!

That is correct if you have a base HR2x HD DVR containing recordings, you can access those recordings on a H21,22 or 23 HD Receiver. All trick play features work and you can even schedule recordings on the HD DVR from the HD Receiver.

Does anyone know if you can pause or rewind live tv on the non-DVR unit with MRV? How would that work if it's not previously recorded on the DVR?

Thanks.

No, you cannot view "Live TV" from your networked DVRs, only recordings. You can, of course, watch Live TV on the local HD Receiver, but you can't pause or rewind that.

From the networked receiver you can simply begin recording the program you want to watch "live" then watch it in it's recorded form.

This is how I thought it would work. The feature of pausing or rewinding something unplanned is nice. I guess that's why multiple DVRs will still be useful even with MRV.

Thanks.

One side benefit to the non DVR HD receiver at present is that you can use it to schedule recordings to ANY of your connected DVRs. Its scheduler is only one week of course but unlike the DVR which requires you to set up its programming on it directly as opposed to from a remote DVR, The H21 and H23 units allow you to choose the DVR from the list and send the record request to it.

I've an H21 in my workout room which is my primary box from which I view a lot of my recorded programming from the 6 DVRs in the household and frequently I'll use it to program shows on several of the DVRs in rooms I may not use during that week.

I do miss the live TV pause and rewind but it's fairly easy to send a record request and then get on the MRV stream from it where you can pause and rewind.
