Multiple channels showing in search, not the HD vs SD duplicate debate. Soccer lovers please chime in.
As a former Comcast customer, less than a month DTV customer I find the Smart Search to be a good product, but I am frustrated with a few things.
First is duplicate channels. For example, GolTV gets listed twice in the lineup, thus resulting in duplicate search results for games. A couple of other channels too. I would love to build a custom channel guide and have Smart Search look through that lineup only. Any way this can be done?
Two, searching for soccer as a category brings up a bunch of stuff that though may be related to soccer aren't really soccer. This could be fixed using my request above though.
Three, when the search is completed, I see the list of programs but there is no channel listing there, just the program name. Since 99% of all of my searches are related to soccer, since I know exactly what I want, and since because problem 2 above I get lots of results that aren't very relevant, I find that listing the channel on the description or anywhere near it will help me tremendously.
With Comcast I would select the Soccer category and all of the listings for the following 2 weeks would come up, along with channel name and whether the game was live or not. I'd go through the hits, set to record all what I wanted, about 5-10 minutes tops. Now with DTV I find that I'm sitting there for a long long while trying to decipher what this result is, is it relevant, is it live, is it current, is it the channel I want? Very frustrating...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
