Must DTV put a dish on my new metal roof?
So my father has ordered DTV against my advice, nonetheless he's old so I'm trying to help him out cause he said he doesn't want them to punch a hole in his brand new overly expensive metal roof that was installed just last week, but I don't see any other way they can make it work, it said in the fine print that basically he's already given them permission to do so but I'm waiting outside his house for them to come today, specifically to make sure they don't ruin his new roof
My question is thus: must thou have to put it on the roof? We live in the country on a farm and there's no poles or anything nearby, any other options? I'm sure in this day and time you can see how a $50,000 roof could mean so much, we live in Florida if that's of any consequence

DirecTV won't install on a metal roof anyway. You need the dish installed on a pole in the yard. There will be an extra charge for this, not sure how much.

Thanks so much, my dad said that he drove around and didn't see any metal roofs WITH a dish installed, which makes complete sense, god I can't imagine what their gonna charge for the pole though, thanks a ton

If it is a flat metal roof they can use a sled mount.
