My second DVR copied all of the programming from the first
Last year, just before the pandemic, we were expecting a roommate who history had shown was not good at sharing the DVR. In anticipation of her moving in, we had a technician come out and install a separate DVR just for her.
Then the pandemic hit, and the move was delayed.
Now that the pandemic is slowing down, she has moved in, and we discover that the second DVR has copied all of the same programming as the first.
So the questions are:
1. Are they just copies, and is it safe for her to delete them.
2. If they are linked, then what the (Edited per community guidelines) did I pay for (and am still paying)?
3. How do we separate them, since that is what I thought I'd been paying for?
Thanks.

It is not possible to copy recordings from one DVR to another. You either don’t have 2 DVR’s or you have whole home turned on and her DVR is able to see the recordings on the other receiver. Any recording deleted would be deleted on your DVR. To stop her DVR from seeing recordings on your DVR, go to settings/whole home on your DVR and turn “share playlist” off.

What are the model numbers of all receivers as it sounds like you got a Genie and a mini and the mini is not a DVR it is an extension of the Genie and deleting anything will delete it from the Genie.
