My TCL TV is not on the program list for DirecTV remote
My DirectTV remote stopped working with my TCL TV today. The menu and channel buttons still work, but I cannot turn the TV on or off, and the volume buttons do not work. The remote is a RC66RX and the TCL is a 43S405. It was working just fine for the past four years until this morning. I tried to reprogam the remote, but 43S405 is not listed under the TCL options anymore, and the "I don't know" option didn't work either (and was painfully slow). Please help!

Code 12049 worked to restore all of my previous functionality of my RC66RX and TCL television.

Receiver model is H24-700.
I have also tried manual codes 11756 and 12434.
The menu and channel up/down buttons still work, but the volume and power buttons do not. I can use the TCL remote to control the volume and turn off the television but, until this morning, the DirectTV remote was able to control everything.

Of course the Menu and channels up/down work as that is the DTV receiver responding to the remote.

It took me a couple of hours, but the following approach finally worked to restore it. Does anyone know how I can figure out which code worked?
"If your using the older larger style DIRECTV remote:

I spoke too soon. The volume works not, but the On/Off buttons don't work to turn of the TCL as they did before this problem started. I still have to use the TCL remote to turn off the television. At least I can use the DirectTV remot to control the volume, but none of this makes any sense to me.

Our club keeps adding members!!! TCL and DTV don't play well together. Many thread on this Forum with the same issue... We've had a TCL tv's for 7-8 years, something in the last year(current production models) has changed. We never had any issue before. I did the same as you with the 991 code...could never get all the TV functions working together. What is confusing is, our RC71 remotes have no problem controling On/Off,mute, or Vol. I have a couple learning remotes that learn all these functions, so you might try a learning remote. No help/solution can be found here...

There was a TCL software update the morning of November 1 that messed up the ability of the RC66RX to control the TV. I have tried 3 different remotes (all the same model) with 2 different TCL TVs in my house and all stopped working Wednesday morning. I checked the TCL software update menu, and a software update happened at exactly the time the remote stopped working. I have not found a solution yet either.

It restored both on/off and volume for me. Do you have the RC66RX remote? If not, which remote do you have?

Code 12049 just restored all the functions on my direct tv remote and TCL television. The two codes 12434 and 13183 that came up on the screen would not work.

No luck here. New TCL 32S357 from Walmart with an H24/700. TV model not listed in drop-down and none of the alternates work. Not in Code Finder nor will Not Listed work. Tried a few codes manually I found one but no luck. Only Directv functions work, not Volume or power.
i hate to take this back to Walmart but …
